St. Mary's Sleep Disorders Center has been performing sleep studies for more than a quarter of a century and was the first sleep center in the region to obtain accreditation from the AASM (Amercian Academy of Sleep Medicine).
Sleep studies are performed six nights per week, and daytime testing is available for night shift workers. Patients of all ages are eligible.
The facility is designed for your comfort, with attractive and well-equipped rooms, Tempur-Pedic mattresses and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Our experienced staff includes nurses, registered polysomnography technicians and respiratory therapists. A therapist from St. Mary's At Home is available during the clinic to assist with CPAP equipment. Located on the third floor of the Rehabilitation Institute on St. Mary's main campus, parking is on the north side of the building. Enter through the front of the Rehabilitation Institute, take the elevator to the third floor and go through the double doors and down the hallway to the right.
Do You Have a Sleep Disorder?
Are you among the nearly 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men who suffer from a sleep disorder? Answering the following questions can help you find out.
- Are you getting enough sleep?
- When you get a full night's sleep, do you feel well rested?
- Does it generally take you more than a half-hour to fall asleep at bedtime?
- Do you wake up often during the night and have difficulty going back to sleep?
- Do you find yourself "nodding off" during the day?
- Have you had accidents or near-accidents because you were drowsy?
- Have you fallen asleep during meetings or at other times when you didn't intend to do so?
- Do you kick or jerk your arms or legs throughout the night?
- Do you snore loudly?
- Do you have long pauses in your breathing during sleep?
- Do you walk in your sleep?
- Do you feel irritable or have trouble concentrating during the day?
If you said "yes" to one or more of these questions, you may have a sleep disorder and should discuss the matter with your physician.
