Your First Appointment

You should receive a phone call from us a few days before your first appointment to confirm the time, review any instructions and complete the pre-registration process.

When you arrive at your appointment, you'll fill out a medical history form. A medical assistant will check your blood pressure, height, weight and current medications. Next, you'll see the physician who will talk to you about your medical history and current condition.

After the exam, your physician will share his or her findings and recommendations with you. A registered nurse will provide further education as needed. The front desk will help you schedule any required tests.

Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratory

Your physician may refer you to our cardiac catheterization laboratory for a diagnostic or treatment procedure. Doctors in the cardiac cath lab use special tools to diagnose and treat heart and vascular diseases, including heart attacks, through minimally invasive techniques.

Most cardiac cath lab procedures require a physician referral and are performed by a cardiologist following an evaluation. The lab is located on the first floor of St. Mary's Medical Center.
