St. Mary's LifeFlight began offering services in 1982. In 1999, we became the first Indiana air medical program to achieve the prestigious CAMTS accreditation.

The LifeFlight helicopter is a Bell 407 and is based at St. Mary's Medical Center Main Campus. Within minutes of receiving your call for help, LifeFlight can be airborne and en route to you. Our helicopter and designated flight crew are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Only extreme weather conditions, maintenance, or commitment to a prior call will prevent immediate response to a request. Our team can greatly reduce your out-of-hospital time when compared to ground transport. We fly the most direct route within a 90 mile radius, reaching into the entire tri-state. We hold an EMS air ambulance license in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky and are also a member of the Association of Air Medical Services.

Our crew members administer critical care in the air and are trained in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and trauma management.
