Role of Healthcare Providers
To help you understand the roles of the different professionals providing healthcare on the Serenity Unit, the following list of staff responsibilities is provided.
The Serenity Unit psychiatrist is responsible for all the care your family member receives. The psychiatrist determines, with the input of consulting physicians, treatments and interventions, prescribes medications, orders testing, and meets frequently with your family member.
The Program Director oversees the operations of the unit.
In addition to Nurse Manager responsibilities, the Nurse Manager oversees nursing services and patient care on the Serenity Unit.
The Social Worker provides individual therapy with your family member, facilitates group therapy, and is directly involved in treatment planning and discharge planning.
The Activity Director assesses your family member's ability to groom himself/herself and to carry out the activities of daily living. The Activity Director also oversees the daily activities therapy.
