St. Mary's NICU Team - When Experience Counts!
At St. Mary's, an experienced neonatologist is always in charge of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and provides direction for the NICU team. A neonatologist is a pediatrician with specialized training in the care of high-risk babies - those born prematurely and/or with potentially serious medical problems.
At least one neonatologist is inside the hospital 24/7/365.
In addition to providing care for NICU patients, the doctors are also available for consultation and referral arrangements, if needed. St. Mary's neonatologists work a rotating schedule that results in 60 days of consecutive coverage by each doctor, which assures continuity of care for our tiny patients.

Experienced Clinical Staff
Specially trained and experienced registered nurses and respiratory therapists are present continuously at the bedside. Physical, occupational and speech therapists, lactation consultants, social workers, patient care technicians, secretaries and housekeepers are available as needed to make parents' stay a more pleasant experience.
Your family's spiritual needs are also of great importance to us; our pastoral care staff is available any time day or night.
