St. Mary's NICU - the Largest, Most Experienced in the Area
After identifying a need for locally based intensive care for babies born in the Tri-State, Dr. Myles Grant founded St. Mary's NICU in 1977. It was the first NICU in the region.
Today Dr. Grant continues to serve as Medical Director and is joined by Dr. Bernardo Arnaez, Dr. Maria Del Rio-Hoover, Dr. Martin Vincent, Dr. Aaron Dewees and Dr. Don Granger. All our doctors live in the Evansville area and have become part of the Tri-State community.
St. Mary's offers the largest NICU in the area, with an average of 30 babies cared for each day. Since opening we have offered specialized care to more than 17,000 babies born prematurely or with other particular medical needs.
The NICU averages between 400 and 500 admissions per year and has been designated by the Indiana Perinatal Network as providing the highest level of care in the Evansville area.
