Pharmacy Residency Program

Thank you for your interest in St. Vincent Health Pharmacy Residency Program. Our program is designed to provide residents with the training and support needed to serve as a well-rounded, compassionate healthcare provider who is fully prepared to function as a qualified health system pharmacist.

The postgraduate year one pharmacy practice residency at St. Vincent Health will provide training experiences in the fundamentals of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system. Residents will gain experience in a variety of patient care settings including general medicine, critical care, nephrology, pediatrics and infectious disease.

While developing competence to provide patient-centered care, PGY1 residents will acquire substantial knowledge for skillful problem solving and strengthen their professional values. An individualized training plan based on the resident’s baseline level of knowledge, skills, and interests will be developed at the beginning of the year. Along with clinical activities, residents will be required to staff in the central pharmacy and complete a year-long research project and poster presentation.

Graduates of St. Vincent Health PGY1 program will be eligible for board certification and postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training

**This program is not yet accredited by ASHP.
