Registries & Databases - St. Mary's Reports Quality of Care
St. Mary's participates in all major national registries and databases that monitor and report cardiovascular quality of care. Data from these registries are shared with hospital, medical and surgical staff to identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice that will improve the care we provide.
Registries and databases with which we participate include:
ACC/NCDR - The American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry is a confidential quality measurement program for cardiovascular specialists who are committed to measurement, improvement and patient care excellence.
ACC Cath/PCI Registry - The American College of Cardiology Cath/PCI Registry measures characteristics at the patient, facility and provider level with emphasis on risk adjusted mortality, vascular complications, procedure outcomes and door-to-balloon time for STEMI patients. The Cath/PCI Registry provides like volume and national quarterly benchmarks.
ACTION Registry - The ACTION Registry is a national, risk-adjusted, outcomes-based quality improvement program that helps participating facilities measure and improve care for high-risk Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) patients. The registry collects a comprehensive set of data elements that provide healthcare professionals and their facilities with the information they need to monitor and improve adherence to the most current, science-based ACC/AHA treatment guidelines.
Ascension Health - St. Mary's reports quarterly ACC data to Ascension Health. The data is compiled by the Indiana Heart Institute (IHI) database warehouse and compared to other Ascension Health facilities.
Carotid Artery Stent Registry - The Carotid Artery Stent Registry is a national listing that documents a facility's ability and expertise in carotid artery stenting.
Get with the Guidelines - Get with the Guidelines is a premier hospital-based quality improvement program sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. It empowers healthcare provider teams to consistently treat heart patients according to the most up-to-date guidelines.
ICD Registry - The ACC's Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Registry is a secure, audited, confidential database that enables benchmarking St. Mary's performance for patients requiring ICD devices to hospitals nationwide. This registry was developed in partnership with the Heart Rhythm Society.
Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Adult Cardiac Surgery Database - The STS Database works in conjunction with Duke Clinical Research Institute in providing hospitals and individual practitioners information pertaining to adverse outcomes, length of stay and risk adjusted mortality. The STS also provides like volume and quarterly benchmarks.
