The Cardiac Rehab program at St. Mary’s Heart Institute is designed to educate you and your family concerning your particular heart problem, as well as to help you make the changes necessary for a more satisfying and fulfilling life. The rehabilitation process begins during hospitalization and continues throughout your lifetime, the staff will determine which phase is appropriate for you.
Many of our staff have taken the extra step to become certified in their specialty. Depending on their role, this includes American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification or Cardiac/Vascular Nurse Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Our staff also includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) registered nurses and exercise physiologists.

- Six minute walk test increased 21%

St. Mary's Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs are certified by the AACVPR (American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation). Certified AACVPR programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.
