It Was Like Leaving Old Friends
I was on holiday recently, only to be brought back to St. Mary's Hospital because of a health complication.
From my registration in the ER until the moment I was released, I was treated by people who were so gentle and caring.
This is important to us when we do not have all our resources to help ourselves, or to be able to intervene in decisions made about our well being.
I want to thank the staff of the unit that cared for me for all the acts of kindness and competence I received and also observed others receiving from this wonderful group of people.
Of course we all long to get back home and into our own bed, but it was a bittersweet time for me because it was like leaving old friends.
Thank you to all who had a part in my recovery.
