Thank You From the Bottom of Our Hearts
On Monday Jan 26th my husband left Holland, Michigan to go to St. Louis and then Evansville for his job. He is a long distance truck driver with Holland Motors and they have a terminal in Evansville.
On Tuesday when he parked the truck he felt achy and thought a good sleep would help. On Tueday night he called Dave's Taxi to take him to the emergency room at St. Mary's. There they gave him a pain shot for what was thought to be a sciatic nerve acting up.
My daughter and I left Michigan (9 hour drive) on Wednesday afternoon to pick up my husband and bring him home. We ended up in the emergency room once again because of pain and then a high fever. They admitted him and started tests. We found out that he had a staph infection that was going through his whole body.
For 3 weeks he was in the hospital. If it weren't for the wonderful nurses, techs and doctors that we had, the stay would have been unbearable since we had no family except the two of us.
I can't say enough about the care and loving support from everyone. Even Cole downstairs was a sweetheart. He helped get my daughter a cab and on Greyhound bus back to Michigan on Friday. Even the cleaning staff would poke their heads in and say "hello" to my husband even the people in the MRI area and Howard in Eco. Everyone. I wish I could remember everyone but I can't because there were so many -- Lana, Tammy, Emily, Drs. Salgado, Davis and Wy and their group, Waite, Weaver. Thank you so very much for your love and support and kindness. We would recommend St. Mary's to anyone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
