Bipolar Wellness Center Offers Hope 12/22/2014 People living with bipolar disorder have a serious but treatable condition. It is a disorder of the brain marked by extreme changes in mood, energy, thinking, and behavior and has no cure. Bipolar disorder affects more than 2 million American adults. Approximately 1% of those with bipolar disorder are diagnosed in early childhood, but it can also emerge suddenly in early adolescence or adulthood. Early intervention and professional medical treatment offer the best chance for both children and adults with bipoolar disorder to achieve stability and wellness.
