St. Mary's Honored by Professional Research Consultants with Two Awards 07/25/2014
St. Mary’s Health was named as a 2014 PRC Five Star Excellence Award winner in two categories during an awards celebration held in June at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch. Healthcare leaders from across the United States gathered to participate in the 2014 PRC Excellence in Healthcare Conference hosted by Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC).
St. Mary’s Medical Center received the Five Star Excellence Award in Inpatient Services – HCAHPS - Discharge Information. The scoring is in the top 10% nationally for “Excellent” responses Inpatient Services – HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems).
St. Mary’s Home Health received the Five Star Excellence Award in Home Health Services – Overall Quality of Care. St. Mary’s Medical Center Home Health scores in the top 10% nationally for “Excellent” responses Home Health Services – Overall Quality of Care.
PRC award winners are recognized annually for their achievements in improving patient experiences, healthcare employee engagement and/or physician alignment based on perceptions obtained through surveys of patients at St. Mary’s Health.

Awards Criteria To be a PRC Five-Star Award winner, hospitals are judged against all other healthcare organizations in similar categories within PRC’s nationwide databases. PRC Top Performers must score at or above the 100th percentile within their particular comparison group, while 5-Star Award Winners are identified as the top 10 percent (at or above the 90th percentile) of PRC’s national client database. 4-Star Award winners are identified at the top 25 percent (between the 75th and 89th percentile).
