St. Mary's recognized as top hospital by National Research Corporation|
(Evansville, IN) – St. Mary's Health is pleased to announce it has been recognized with a 2013/2014 Consumer Choice Award by National Research Corporation – making St. Mary's Evansville's most preferred hospital for overall quality and image. The award identifies hospitals that healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image throughout the U.S. Only 277 hospitals – less than 5 percent – nationwide will receive this honor.
This is the eighteenth year National Research has awarded hospitals whose consumers have recognized them for providing the highest quality healthcare. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company's Market Insights Survey. From households surveyed, hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on their Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with the winning facilities being ranked the highest.
"This honor means so much to us, because it means that our own community has given us high marks in terms of the quality care we provide for our patients," said Gwen Sandefur, Executive Vice President/COO of St. Mary's Health.
"We are thrilled to offer this annual award because we understand how important the role of reputation plays in healthcare consumer decision-making," said Susan L. Henricks, President and Chief Operating Officer at National Research. "These winners have done an outstanding job of representing their organizations in terms of high quality care, improvement initiatives, and positive consumer perceptions and experiences. The consumers have spoken. And we congratulate the winning hospitals in receiving this honor."
