St. Mary's Health System is pleased to announce Amir Torshizi, MD, FACP, as the newest member of our experienced and highly-skilled Hospitalist Department.
Dr. Torshizi comes to Evansville from Illinois, where he served as a Staff Physician at both Ottawa Regional Hospital in Ottawa, Illinois and at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, Illinois. He also practiced Internal Medicine at Forsyth Professional Centre, which is associated with Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Illinois. In his native country of Iran, Dr. Torshizi was a Staff and Chief Physician in charge of the Emergency Room (ER) at the Tehran Clinic Hospital. He also worked in the ER at Pars Hospital in Tehran, Iran.
Dr. Torshizi received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, where he graduated in the top 3 % of his class. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Dr. Torshizi is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of several national organizations including: the American Medical Association, the Fellow of American College of Physicians, the American Diabetes Association, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, the Illinois State Medical Society and the LaSalle County Medical Society. Dr. Torshizi was also honored by America's Top Physicians in 2009 and 2010.
