Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need antibiotics prior to dental work or an invasive medical procedure?

Yes. Avoid any dental cleaning or non-urgent procedures for six weeks following a total joint replacement. Antibiotics need to be taken prior to these procedures for at least two years in order to guard against getting an infection in your new joint.
