About Key Benefit Administrators
In 1991, St. Mary’s Medical Center entered into an agreement with Key Benefit Administrators, Inc. of Indianapolis, IN to create a seniors program that would provide insurance services and guidance, educational seminars and other services related to the 55 and over age group. The result of this agreement was the formation of “Senior Connection” that would be marketed to the public as a St. Mary’s Senior Connection with the staff being employed and funded by Key Benefit Administrators. KBA is the largest Third Party Administrator for self-funded employer groups in the U.S. They employ over 400 individuals between the Indianapolis, IN and Fort Mill, SC areas; servicing 2,800 corporate accounts with over 500,000 members.
A membership club was later formed by the hospital and called Senior Partners (now Prime Wise). The club took over many of the social activities for this group and sponsored educational seminars, trips, membership discounts and many other services. Prime Wise has dissolved, but Senior Connection continues to focus its resources on the sale of insurance products available to the senior market and educational seminars specific to senior insurance.
Today, Senior Connection reports to the St. Mary’s Foundation. Senior Connection has grown significantly over the years and provides insurance products and related assistance to thousands of tri-state residents.
