Volunteers - Giving the ultimate gift of time
St. Mary's Volunteers are a gift to our healing Mission and a generous witness to the people served by their kindness and generosity. Our volunteers serve a variety of roles, from delivering patient mail to giving directions at the Information Desk to stuffing envelopes to driving shuttles in the parkilng lot and many other services that enhance the St. Mary's Experience. We have plenty of service descriptions for you to choose from to lend your talent and time to support St. Mary's patients and services.
St. Mary’s Auxiliary – Established in 1952
Since the beginning in 1952, the St. Mary’s Auxiliary has continued to provide the funding, warmth, compassion, and personal touches needed to further the mission begun by the founders of St. Mary’s: The Daughters of Charity. Many of our community’s best benefactors have made their mark in the history of the Auxiliary by providing the leadership needed to propel the organization to its current strong and giving state.
The events of the Auxiliary include:
- Style Show (every other year)
- Christmas Tea
- Fundraising Sales
- Annual Meeting/Scholarship Presentations
- Mass and Breakfast with Bishop Charles Thompson
Projects supported by the Auxiliary include:
- Renovation of the Manor Auditorium
- Annual Achievement Award Scholarships for children of St. Mary's associates
- Trauma Services - Simulation Baby
- Journey to Magnet Status (a national program promoting nursing excellence)
- Intensive Care Unit Waiting Room refurbished with new furniture
The Auxiliary Gift Shoppe serves as the primary fundraising source which allows the group to provide special project needs and services to St. Mary's.
The Auxiliary welcomes all who understand the value of giving. We invite men and women of all ages, and races to join us in the service to others. Membership dues are $10 annually for active status which requires 25 hours of service. Lifetime status is granted to members contributing a one-time gift of $100. Members receive 4 newsletters per year, a membership directory and invitations to all events and fundraisers in addition to the benefits listed for all active volunteers.
