Clinical Support: Vascular Access
The Vascular Access Department at St. Mary's Hospital was created to provide the highest quality of care for our patients needing intravenous access.
The Vascualr Access Department is made up of Registered Nurses and Vascular Access Technicians with specialized training in the insertion of peripheral IVs and and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
They are available to all nursing units, inpatient and outpatient departments and Rehab from 6 am to 11 pm seven days a week.
- 6:00am-11:00pm, 8 and 12 hour shifts
- A 3-6 week orientation is required for an RN transferring into the department.
